An integrated treatment system for municipal wastewater recycle comprises screening, primary clarification (optional), secondary biological treatment e.g. Activated Sludge Process (ASP), Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR), Moving Bed Bioreactor (MBBR) etc. followed by tertiary treatment e.g. lime-soda ash softening, media filtration, membrane filtration and finally reverse osmosis or High Efficiency reverse Osmosis and/or ion-exchange polishing depending on the final usage of recovered water.
